![]() Microsoft brought Windows NT 3.1 to improve Windows versions like Windows 1.0 or Windows 3.1 who were based on MS-DOS. Microsoft Windows NT series ended after the arrival of Windows 2000. Normally Windows NT series was supposed for the general purposes and to discontinue the Windows 9x family. NT family is a group of server-based operating systems who are processor independent, multiprocessing and multi-user based. ![]() Windows 3.1x and Windows 9x were supporting both 16-bit and 32-bit architecture-based computers. NT server was the first stable 32-bit architecture support program which was quite a big deal back then. Windows NT servers are developed by Microsoft where the NT stands for “New Technology”. The first-ever Windows NT series was released on July 27, 1993.
